Introduction To Shirdi
Shirdi is one of India’s holiest pilgrimage towns, located in Maharashtra. It was the home of the late 19th-century saint Sai Baba, who is revered by millions of devotees across all religions for his teachings of “Sabka Malik Ek” (One God governs all).
The entire town revolves around the massive Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir complex. The atmosphere is filled with devotion, chanting, and the smell of incense. Unlike scenic tourist spots, people come here primarily for deep spiritual connection, blessings, and to witness the disciplined chaos of thousands of devotees lining up for Darshan (viewing of the idol).

F.A.Q
October to March is the best time as the weather is pleasant.
Note: Thursdays are Sai Baba’s special day, so the town is extremely crowded. If you want a quicker Darshan, visit on a weekday (Mon-Wed).
By Air: You can fly directly into Shirdi Airport (SAG), which has flights from cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
By Train: Sainagar Shirdi (SNSI) is the local railway station connected to major cities. Kopargaon (15 km away) is another major stop.
By Road: It is a 4-5 hour drive/bus ride from Pune or Mumbai.
Everything is within walking distance of the main temple:
Samadhi Mandir: The main temple where Sai Baba’s mortal remains are buried.
Chavadi: Where Baba used to sleep on alternate nights.
It is highly recommended to book your Darshan or Aarti tickets online in advance through the official temple website (shrisaibabasansthan.org). This saves you hours of standing in the general queue.
The Prasadalaya: You must eat at the Sai Prasadalaya, one of the world’s largest solar-powered kitchens. They serve a simple, hygienic, and delicious meal to thousands daily for a nominal fee (or free).
Prasad Ladoo: Don’t forget to buy the boondi ladoo sold as prasad.
