Introduction To Rameswaram
Rameswaram is a serene island town in Tamil Nadu, located on Pamban Island. It is one of the holiest places in India, part of the Char Dham pilgrimage, and is believed to be the place where Lord Rama built a bridge (Ram Setu) to Lanka. The town is famous for the Ramanathaswamy Temple, known for its magnificent corridors and 22 sacred wells. Beyond religion, it offers pristine beaches, historical ruins like Dhanushkodi, and the engineering marvel of the Pamban Bridge.

F.A.Q
October to February is the best time as the weather is cool and pleasant for sightseeing. Avoid summer (April-June) as it can get very hot.
By Train: The train journey over the Pamban Bridge, India’s first sea bridge, is a must-do experience. Rameswaram Railway Station connects to major cities like Chennai and Madurai.
By Road: It is connected to the mainland by the Pamban Road Bridge, offering spectacular views of the ocean.
Ramanathaswamy Temple: Famous for its long corridors and 22 holy wells (Theerthams).
Dhanushkodi: The “Ghost Town” destroyed by a cyclone in 1964; it’s a hauntingly beautiful spot where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean.
Agni Theertham: A sacred beach near the temple where pilgrims take a holy dip.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial: A tribute to the former President who was born here.
Ram Setu (Adam’s Bridge): A chain of limestone shoals believed to be the ancient bridge.
Buy Seashell crafts (mirrors, lamps, jewelry) and Silk Sarees (though Kanchipuram is better for silk, you can find good textiles here).
