Bhutan tours invite visitors into a tranquil Himalayan kingdom where ancient monasteries, dramatic valleys, and a deep Buddhist culture shape every journey. Known as the “Land of the Thunder Dragon,” Bhutan focuses on Gross National Happiness and carefully managed tourism, so trips feel immersive, uncrowded, and closely connected to local life.
Most itineraries weave through Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha, combining iconic sights like the cliffside Tiger’s Nest Monastery, riverside dzongs (fortresses), and hillside villages framed by terraced fields and snow-capped peaks. Along the way, travelers experience vibrant festivals, traditional architecture, and mountain landscapes that make Bhutan ideal for culture seekers, trekkers, and anyone looking for a peaceful, slow-paced escape.

The ideal period is from October to December or March to May, when clear skies offer stunning Himalayan views, mild temperatures prevail, and festivals like Paro Tshechu add cultural vibrancy.
All international tourists (except Indians, Bangladeshis, and Maldives citizens) require a visa arranged through a licensed tour operator, which also mandates a local guide and vehicle for the entire trip outside Thimphu and Paro.
The SDF is USD 100 per night (reduced from previous rates until 2027), covering tourism infrastructure, free education/healthcare, and conservation; it’s prepaid via the tour operator and applies to most visitors aged 6+.
Highlights include Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery), Punakha Dzong, Thimphu’s giant Buddha and markets, trekking routes like Druk Path, and festivals with masked dances in dzongs across valleys.
Fly into Paro International Airport (limited direct flights from major Indian/Delhi hubs) or enter overland via Phuentsholing from India; all internal travel uses private vehicles with guides, as independent driving is restricted.
