The ideal time is October to March, when the weather is cool and breezy, perfect for beach activities and exploring the forts.
For Daman, the nearest railway hub is Vapi (just 12 km away). For Diu, you can fly directly into Diu Airport or take a train to Veraval Junction (about 90 km away).
In Diu, you must visit the Diu Fort, Nagoa Beach, and the surreal Naida Caves. In Daman, the highlights are the Moti Daman Fort, St. Jerome Fort (Nani Daman), and Jampore Beach.
The region is a paradise for seafood lovers. You must try Lobster, Prawn Balchao, and Butter Garlic Crabs. The cuisine is a unique mix of Gujarati and Portuguese flavors.
They are actually quite far apart (about 650 km by road). They are not twin cities you can visit in the same day; usually, tourists plan separate trips or a long road trip through Gujarat to cover both.
