The ideal time is October to March when the weather is pleasant for sightseeing. The monsoon season (July to September) is also popular for viewing the waterfalls in their full glory.
You can fly into Ranchi (Birsa Munda Airport) or Deoghar Airport. For trains, the major connectivity hubs are Tatanagar (Jamshedpur), Ranchi Junction, and Dhanbad.
Key attractions include the Hundru and Jonha Waterfalls near Ranchi, the hill station of Netarhat (Queen of Chotanagpur), Betla National Park for wildlife, and the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga in Deoghar.
You should try Dhuska (a fried snack made of rice and lentils), Chilka Roti, Bamboo Shoot curry, and the seasonal Rugra (a type of mushroom).
Jharkhand is famous for Tussar Silk (Kuchai silk) sarees and traditional Dokra metal craft (tribal brass figures), which make excellent souvenirs.
